  • Revision of a Hip Hemiarthroplasty to a Total Hip Arthroplasty
Αναθεώρηση ημιαρθροπλαστικής σε ολική αρθροπλαστική ισχίου με σύστημα dual mobility

A patient who had previously undergone hip hemiarthroplasty presented with dislocation of the prosthesis and a concomitant fracture of the anterior wall of the acetabulum.

Due to the complex nature of the case, the hemiarthroplasty was converted to a total hip replacement.

A peripheral self-locking acetabular cup was used for acetabular reconstruction, with the aim of achieving strong primary stability of the prosthesis.

At the same time, the Modular Dual Mobility (MDM) system was selected, as it offers increased joint stability and helps to reduce the risk of post-operative dislocation, particularly in complex revision procedures.

ORIS Orthopaedic Centre offers specialist diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, with the aim of restoring mobility and improving the quality of life of every patient.
